siva lingam.....
worship of Shiva Linga in effect means worship of the reproduction function. The other meaning of the Sanskrit word ‘Linga’ is gender in general and phallus (the male reproductive organ) in particular. The base of the Lingam corresponds to the Yoni which mean vagina or the female reproductive organ. Correspondence of Linga and Yoni in a Shiva Linga is therefore interpreted as the representation of the process of copulation. Scholars further opine that the Kalash (container of water) that is suspended over the Shiva Linga from which water drips over the Linga also correspond to the idea of intercourse.

Enna Koduma Sir Idhu....
I too heard the same! May be its true! Not only in Hindustan, even in Christianity same. (see/read DaVinCi Code).
"Lingam" represents the symbol of purity which differs from sex.
But whoever reads, this article, won't get exact!
oo..in ur terms..sex is "not pure"..then u r opposing the nature..just belive apart...it is a symbol of life...where life is nothing without 'siva and sakthi' :D
I agree with your post.
The problem is, I didn't tell my point clearly.
"Lingam" is the symbol of sex which is origin of all creature.
But People have a mindset that "sex" is a impure form.
so when you unveil the truth about "lingam", they don't want to agree to that.
Whatever may be, Truth is ultimate.
:) :) :)
so wat were u tryin 2 say with thz post?
what i need to say?!..just and explanation abt old symbols of tradition...dats it.... :O
der r many things to say this way about many religion...i am not with any religion...
cool...its better 2 sit back and think rationally as to why we are still worshipping stone statues, whatever form they may, whatever meaning they r supposed 2 tell....and now blaming the people for tht, I guess....
stone statues..are not any magical things..its just an symbols...der is nothing to hesitate..or to follow the religion are tradition....without knowing and following makes people to think that something comes from h some somwhere...
there is nothing to do with stone statues...and religion..
all that are made people to remain that we r part of some power..
der is nothing to follow..but der is always something to realise.. :) :) :)

hey dat was a nice article....
whats ur exact thing to say about topic....
i always agree dat..any religion is created by man...which is excatly not a god...any stone statues..or any thing...
any thing matters..say khajuraho temple, krishna[a man of joy..],jesus is a man who lived, again with buddha the same...der should be a deep understanding for krishna more than bhajans or anything..and again the same for jesus and buddha...
there is no more ghost and god...
life is as simple as natural, when we throw a ball up..it comes back..same, what u give others reflects back...
nothing more..der is no point even in marriage..religion nothing...all dese came to control any individual..into a circle...der should be always a deep understanding behind it...
der is no more god there is only godliness..which we can feel...jus in simple smile, love, hugs, even in gud food..
the main thing for this post is..people usually oppose sex symbols or sex in temple..where it is not divine...
what is der in opposing it..dats how i notified it...even the daily prayers for whom they worship siva is the symbol of reproductive function..and life starts from der...

upto you...its not my wish...
